Driving directions to Patones

Patones is located in the Sierra Norte de Madrid, in the northeast of the region, about 60 km from the city of Madrid. It is divided into two main areas: Patones de Arriba and Patones de Abajo. Patones de Abajo is the ideal starting point for exploring the municipality, and the more picturesque Patones de Arriba has restricted vehicle access, which guarantees its tranquility and conservation.

Public Transport

If you prefer public transport, you can take the bus from Madrid:

From the Plaza de Castilla interchange, the company ALSA offers daily departures to Patones.

  • Line 197: Runs from Madrid to Torrelaguna, with stops in Patones and connections to other towns.
  • Line 197A: Runs from Torrelaguna to Uceda, also stopping in Patones.

If you are traveling by car, you can reach Patones easily from Madrid:

  1. Take the A-I (Northern Highway).
  2. Leave the highway at kilometer 50 and follow the directions to Torrelaguna via the N-320.
  3. After crossing Torrelaguna, continue to Patones de Abajo via the M-102.
  4. Parking: Once in Patones de Abajo, you will find a designated free parking area.
